In 1870 that Ransom True Sr. sold his first insurance policy in Syracuse, NY.  Since then the business has been passed down from generation to generation and True Insurance has grown to meet the needs of individuals, families and businesses of all sizes in the Ithaca and Tompkins County area. 

 

It was 1958 that Jerome B. True brought the family business to the Ithaca area, joining with J. Guy Torbert of the T.H. Davenport Co.  True eventually bought the business and changed it’s name to what it’s know today:  True Insurance

 Then in 1978, Jerome’s two sons, Jeff and Jay, became licensed Insurance Agents.  In 1980, they purchased the building of their present location .   Now, with Jay True as President, and a staff of 18 people, the agency provides insurance solutions to our clients throughout central New York.
